David Airey (University of Surrey, United Kingdom)

David AireyProfessor Airey began his academic career at the University of Surrey in 1975-1985. After 8 years with Government Ministry responsible for tourism education, and 3 years with European Commission, he returned to Surrey in 1997 as Professor of Tourism Management. Professor Airey served as Head of School from 2000-2002 and as University Pro-Vice Chancellor from 2001-2009. In 2004 he was awarded the EuroChrie President’s award for outstanding achievement and in 2006 was recipient of the Ulysses award from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for his work in tourism education. In 2007 he became co-chair of the UNWTO Education Council. He retired from his full-time post in 2009 but remains as Professor of Tourism Management at Surrey, combining this with other work both in the UK and overseas. He is an elected Academician of the Academy of Learned Societies for the Social Sciences, elected Fellow of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Fellow of the Tourism Society, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, and member of the International Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism and the Tourism Research Centre.


Marianna Sigala (University of South Australia)

Professor Sigala is Professor in Tourism at the University of South Australia Business School. She is a widely published authority in the area of Service Operations Management and Communication Technology (ICT) applications in Tourism and Hospitality. She also has an interest in e-learning models and pedagogies, having published several research studies in these areas. Her research is multi-award winning featuring several best paper awards in international conferences and academic journals, such as papers published in the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management and the International Journal of Hospitality Management. Prof. Sigala is the current Chair of the ICHRIE Johnson and Wales Case Study Competition and Publication Series. She is also currently the co-editor of the Journal of Service Theory and Practice, co-Editor of the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Management and the editor of the International Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Cases. Prof. Sigala has also served on the Board of Directors of the International Federation of Information Technology, Tourism and Travel (IFITT) (as Membership Director); the International Council on Hospitality, Restaurant and Institutional Education (I-CHRIE) (as Research Director, 2008 – 2010); and the Executive Board of the European Council on Hospitality, Restaurant and Institutional Education (EuroCHRIE) (as President, 2004 – 2005).


José Luis Jiménez (Universidad de Sevilla, Spain)

José Luis Jiménez es Profesor Titular de Finanzas en el Departamento de Economía Financiera y Dirección de Operaciones, de la Universidad de Sevilla. Su tesis doctoral se centró en el los mercados emergentes, como línea de investigación internacional. Ha impartido e imparte cursos, seminarios, cursos expertos y másteres propios, entre otros, sobre Finanzas Internacionales, Valoración de Empresas y Planificación Financiera, Análisis Bursátil, Inversiones Financieras y Mercados Derivados.Ha organizado jornadas y congresos de investigación en el ámbito de las Ciencias Sociales y el Turismo. En la actualidad es Decano de la Facultad de Turismo y Finanzas y coordinador en Sevilla del Programa de Doctorado interuniversitario en Turismo por las Universidades de Alicante, Málaga, Rey Juan Carlos y Sevilla. Ha sido colaborador del semanario económico del Diario de Sevilla: Economía & Empleo, y coordinador y autor de capítulos y libros de finanzas.


Tamer M. Atef (Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman) 

Tamer AtefTamer Mohamed Atef is currently a member of the Tourism Department / College of Arts and Social Sciences / Sultan Qaboos University / Sultanate of Oman. Tamer has extensive experience in the areas of Hospitality Management, Quality Management, Training and Development, Tourism and Hospitality Education. He has recently joined the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) as an external reviewer for Tourism and Hospitality Educational Programs. He has also been collaborating with World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in conducting capacity building programs.


Sérgio Araújo (Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal)

sergioAntónio Sérgio Araújo de Almeida is Professor in Tourism at the School of Tourism and Maritime Technology (Polytechnic Institute of Leiria), in Peniche, Portugal. He is effective member of Tourism Applied Research Centre of Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. Identity contributions to the definition of sustainable tourism products and the process of intensification of Tourist Experience, are the main themes of his publications. He integrates currently the Editorial and Scientific Committee of Marketing & Tourism Review and the Scientific Committee of Tourism and Hospitality International Journal. He is the coordinator of the Master degree in Tourism and Environment atSchool of Tourism and Maritime Technology.
